Our award winning Motel 6, with a score of 9.2 on Expedia, is seeking a driven and hands-on Assistant General Manager who is being groomed to be our next General Manager. This is a key leadership position designed for a high-potential candidate who wants to take the next steps in their hospitality career. We are looking for someone who has at least 3 years experience working in a hotel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the hotel from guests to staff, including housekeeping, maintenance, and front desk and property condition.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Manage, train and motivate staff, set goals and make sure that they are being met.
• Submit payroll reports
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, adjusting as necessary to ensure profitability.
• Address any guest feedback in reviews, handle any complaints and concerns in a timely manner.
• Look for strategies to improve the hotel and share your ideas.
• Ensure all safety and security procedures are in place and being followed.
• Attend meetings to help network the hotel and keep up with industry changes and practices.
• Be a confident marketing agent for the hotel.
• Responding to phone calls and email

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
• Knowledge of hotel industry trends and best practices
• Must have at least 3 years of experience working in a hotel
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in management
• Must be a strong leader with good communication skills both oral and written
• Must be a self-motivated team builder
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new computer programs
• Possess excellent writing skills
